Hey there :)
The thought of going to therapy can be scary, especially if you don’t know what to expect. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to freely process your experiences and emotions and will answer any questions you have about the process along the way. As therapy is a deeply personal experience, we can go on this journey as quickly or slowly as you want and spend this valuable time as you see fit.
MY APPROACH
Most of the work I do centers around relationship issues or relational trauma. Whether problems are showing up in your romantic relationships, family relationships, relationship with your body, or relationship with yourself, I can empower you with tools that help you establish your needs and nourish these connections.
I utilize attachment theory and positive psychology along with various systems theories to address your concerns. Throughout our sessions, I can help you foster a strong and trusting relationship with yourself, which in turn, will help you build satisfying relationships with others.
I have a passion for working with couples and can provide a framework in which more empathy, understanding, connection, or desire can be created. I have a compassionate yet direct approach, challenging you to take the necessary steps to grow with your partner.
Having a background in physical health, I find the mind-body connection and overall wellness to be very important. So, I like to incorporate mindfulness and somatic exercises into therapy, and I offer walk-and-talks! (A more casual, active, outdoor approach)
FAMILIES and KIDS
I also enjoy working with families! My undergraduate and graduate degrees have provided me expert knowledge in child development, and I have clinical counseling experience as well as relevant experience working as a nanny for 3 years, coaching soccer for 4 years, and working at a children's gym. I can help your family gain a better understanding of the problem at hand while helping you integrate new tools, meaning, or ideas into your family system.
***CURRENT GROUP***
My current 2024 Nature Therapy Group runs March 10th-May 19th (every other Sunday) from 9am-11am. It is a combination of grounding, meditation, hiking, group support and processing, and more. There will be a focus on mindfulness, connection, and spirituality. The group is open to anyone 18+ and it is an open group, which means you can show up whenever you are able and friends can come just once if they want :)
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling with a focus in marriage, family, and couple counseling from St. Edward's University in 2022, and in 2018 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Conditioning with minors in coaching and psychology from Texas A&M University.
